I went back and forth about what I wanted to do with it, then finally decided to give it a new life as a night light.
This is what I started with. There was a fragment of a sticker on the back, so I did some research and found out it was manufactured by Bremer-Tulley around 1927.

I painted it with two different colors of chalk paint, crackled it in a few places with Elmer's Glue, applied clear wax and a little dark wax, then distressed it along the edges. The vintage doily was attached to the inside with a few staples.
I didn't want to use a plug-in night light and have to deal with the cord hanging out the back, so I used a battery operated scented light. This one is about 4" tall and turns on and off by pushing down on the top.
Presto! Just stick a finger through the back, push down, then watch it glow.
It gives off a beautiful soft glow in the dark and smells good too!
