My 2014 Favorites

It seems like just a couple of months ago I was putting together a post about my favorite projects of 2013.  What happened to 2014?  Is it just me or did this year fly by much faster than most?  I guess time really does fly when you're having fun!

My favorites aren't necessarily the posts with the most comments or views.  In no particular order these are the ones with good memories, the ones that still make me smile, and the ones I'm still having some serious seller's remorse over.  You can click on the title to take you to the original post.

Rusty Jeweled Vases
These rusty industrial pole bases were dressed up with an old barrette and a clip-on earring.  I just love the rust and rhinestone combination.

My Day at the Pleasanton Antique Faire
This was one of my best antique shows of the year.

Wheel Meets Lamp Base
A rusty bicycle wheel was bolted to the heavy cast iron floor lamp base.  I glued some rhinestones to the center of the wheel, added a magnetic button, then clipped on some pictures.

Junky Lamp Parts Christmas Trees
Oh what fun it is to play in my lamp parts stash!

Salvage Style Link Party
I used an old pulley, stray lamp part, and a clip-on earring to create this junky picture holder for the Salvage Style Link Party I co-hosted in early October.

The Making of a Cloche
The five main ingredients I used to create this cloche were destined to be together.

Repurposed Picket Fence Garden Border
A tattered garden border becomes a message center with the help of some clips, a knob, a hook, and a chalkboard nailed to the back.

Victorian Closet
I discovered this amazing little shop last year in Amador City, Ca.  It's actually more like a museum with wall to wall vintage clothing and accessories.

Another Batch of Vintage Silverware Necklaces
The silverware jewelry assembly line was busy all year long!

Salvage Yard and Antique Show Junk
I had been searching for a headboard for a guest room for ages until I discovered these 24" x 24" framed ceiling tiles at an antique show.  It was a good junkin' day!

I want to shout out a big THANK YOU to every one of you.  It's hard to express just how much I appreciate you for taking the time to visit and for leaving such inspiring comments about my junky projects, flea market finds, field trips, and my vintage shows.  You keep me going!!

While I'm am ardent fan of your ingenuity in general, I think your silverware pieces are still the tops! My coffee spoon I use everyday is in the pattern on the far right!

Here's to a new year of awe-inspiring creations!

Loved seeing these again - your creative mind is so amazing! Love the cloche and the jeweled flower 'vases'! Oh, and the pulley! Of course I love everything, but those really stand out for me as examples of your wonderfully creative mind! Such an inspiration - can't wait to see what treasures you come up with in 2015!

Love the jeweled and rusty vases......so creative.......and necklaces out of vintage silverware! I have been meaning to try stamping some old flatware (I have the items to do it) but just haven't tried it yet.
Hoping to make time to give it a whirl this new year! Thanks for the inspiration from last year and waiting to see your wonderful creativity in 2015. Have fun!

Betsy, I may have to borrow that bicycle wheel idea for my own biker boy, Rick! What a great idea for a cycling fan. I don't think he'd put up cool vintage postcards on it, but I suspect it could get quite the use! Loved lots of these and have certainly enjoyed following you in 2014 and look forward to more!

Your posts are so much fun to look at, you are incredibly creative and a source of inspiration!!! I'm still amazed at how you put that cloche together and believe it or not I missed the post with the pulley, I loved seeing the picture of the group of women - you sure don't hear names like that anymore. So many ways to hold pictures, but the bottle with the pic inside has me stumped...how did you get it flattened out? Kind Regards~~~Mickie
