Thanksgiving Greetings ~ Magnetic Card Holders

It's been another busy week around here without a lot of time for creating, but I was determined to sneak in a little play time with some of the new-to-me junk parts I've been accumulating. Decisions, decisions! What should I make? How about a trio of magnetic card holders?

repurposed vintage lamp parts card holders
Perfect for displaying Thanksgiving greetings and so easy to change out for any occasion.

Junky flower picture holders
My inspiration came from these junky flower picture holders I created last year.

This year I started with a pile o' miscellaneous lamp parts and one unidentified piece of junk.

I added vintage buttons and remnants of broken jewelry because no junky magnetic card holder would be complete without a little sparkle.

See that magnet?  It may be tiny, but it's mighty strong and it does a great job holding everything together.
 No glue necessary.

Best Wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving
Give Thanks

I love, love, this project and I have the random parts to make them myself! Are those rare earth magnets? If they are you can even use them as stud finders in your wall! They'll find a nail right through the sheetrock! :)

Those are great! And using the magnet instead of gluing is a stroke of genius. :-) I'm inspired. Inspired enough to clean up my craft room and hunt for parts however, remains to be seen. LOL

Another day, another gobsmack by Betsy. I adore them! The magnet is truly the best idea. And just the perfect little amount of bling, they still look old and mildly distressed, but rich and happy. (Just how I imagine my retirement years.)

These are just too cute! Thanks for the inspiration! I bought a whole box of old lamp parts this summer, not knowing what to do with them, but I had to have them. I always love your crafty ideas!
