Junky Flower Picture Holders

I've been on another jewelry making marathon in preparation for a two day craft show I have this weekend. Earlier in the week I had everything priced, packed, and ready to go, then I was finally able to clear my mind and work on some small quickie projects.  These two quickies only required about 10 minutes to gather the junk, then another 15-20 minutes to glue them all together.

The ingredients:  plucked paper flower remnants, butter knife, rusty old bolt, flower frog, two stray lamp parts, and two rhinestone buttons.  I added part of a drawer pull to the pile after this picture was taken.

Give Thanks stamped on the back of old game cards.  Perfect for Thanksgiving.

Two of my favorite things:  rhinestones and rust.

The inspiration for my junky versions came from this sweet picture holder that was given to me several years ago.

The base of the Swarovski crystal flower and the top of the stem are both magnetic and hold the picture firmly in place.

I used very strong 1/4" magnets for my rusty and junky versions.  Both the bolt and the flower are magnetic so there was no need to use glue.

To keep the bolt from flopping over I glued it to the inside of the base.

When Thanksgiving is over I'll simply replace Give Thanks with some special photos.

Don't you love the rhinestones and rust phenomenon? It's like peanut butter and jelly. Destined to be joined together. Great ideas. You always come up with such creative uses for odds and ends.
