Stamping and Creating

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I haven't done any fall decorating yet.  Well, nothing but a couple of baby pumpkins sitting in silver goblets on my living room mantel.  That's it, nothing more.  I have a few fall projects I'd love to tackle, but right now I just can't find the time.  I did find time to play with some new jewelry creations, but I doubt any of them will make it into my Etsy shop because of all the shows I have coming up .  Here's a sampling of what I've been up to so far this week.....

I've been playing with skeleton keys, clip on earrings, typewriter keys, even some bits and pieces from an old tackle box I purchased a while back.

The skeleton keys looked naked without a little bling on the bottom, so I added a tiny Swarovski crystal to each one.  The chain on the Go Fish necklace is 24" long and is made up of everything I found in the tackle box except for the little flower connectors.  I don't remember where the pendant came from, but it seemed perfect for the necklace.  I didn't get a picture of the fishy earrings.

I decorated ten silverware handle necklaces with bits and pieces of salvaged jewelry.....

little charms.....

vintage buttons, and little keys.

Then came the stamping marathon.

Eleven stamped spoon necklaces.

All ready to go to the Pleasanton Antique Faire this Sunday.  Oops, next time I'll take the time to get pictures of the process.

Not pictured are the 44 stamped garden markers that were part of this marathon; they're still waiting to be polished and filled in with a Sharpie.  Click here for tutorial.  I can't believe that I stamped every one of these spoon necklaces and 44 garden markers without one mishap.  It's not uncommon for me to stamp a letter backwards, upside down, spell something wrong, or get a double impression, but not this time.  This time the only mishap occurred when I left out a word on the last and largest 45th garden marker.  Now I know my limit.
Next in line: buckets, tins, burlap, and Mod Podge, then maybe a little decorating.

I read somewhere that you can't rush decorating...I'm applying that seasonally this year. Just love the necklaces made from flatware handles and the fishy necklace. Awesome pretties for the antique faire!!!

If we weren't throwing a dinner party on Sunday I would be tempted to get in the car and drive to Pleasanton just to see your beauties in person and buy a few.

    EVERYTHING looks beautiful.

Wow, that was a marathon!! I love how creative you are, how you even think of the combinations of trinkets. That fishing one is really neat! Who looks at a tackle box and see's a necklace??? I am intrigued with the ball chains on most of your jewelry, I don't even know what is popular! I think you should teach and online jewelry class!

Wow Betsy...I think you have been busier than me. Love all your beautiful necklaces!! My hubby cut me some flatware pieces for my last show, but I didn't have time to get them made into necklaces. So now I need to work on them for my Christmas show.
Hope you have a great show on Sunday.

Holy Toledo, you have been busy!! Who cares if you have no Fall decorating done...all of these creations are MUCH more impressive!! The silverware handle necklaces are sooo wonderful, Betsy (and I think I spot my mother's pattern in the mix!). I just love it all.

Hey, ever since you sent me the info on the chunkier ball chain, I have loved using it. Rings & Things is doing a huge bead show here in Portland this weekend (and it's so near my house, yay!), and I've pre-ordered a bunch more of the chain to pick up at the show (and no shipping! Another YAY!)

Can't wait to see your buckets and tins and stuff. Good luck with your artsy marathon!
