The four hours included familiarizing myself with the basics by quickly reading over the directions. I spent a lot of time playing with the software, sizing the fonts, and then trying to figure out why it wouldn't load the black adhesive vinyl. Oops, I missed the part about locking the rollers back in place.
I have so many ideas floating around in my head, but will stick to the smaller projects until I get the hang of this. So much fun!
We all need a little extra space for storing junk.
These rusty loaf pans I bought at a flea market a
couple of weeks ago were perfect candidates for my first project.
couple of weeks ago were perfect candidates for my first project.
They're still rusty, but now they have a little more character.
My buttons are happy.
I haven't decided if I'll keep them or sell them, but for now I like them right where they are. Hopefully my next little project will only take two hours.
I love the look! I would have to keep them. :)
ReplyDeleteThe loaf pans are perfect!!! I'm glad to hear about the Silhouette. I've been tempted to buy one but haven't taken the plunge....I'm anxious to see what else you do with it. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAt the antique fair I saw commerical bread pans, you know the ones that are all linked together. I would have loved to have brought them home with me but I have absolutely nowhere to put them!
xoxo
They really do work well! Something else to look for....and I'm pretty sure I got rid of old loaf pans years ago! Never again! Love all of your supplies...especially those keys! ♥
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those pans!
ReplyDeleteThis is new territory for me so I googled the Cameo Silhouette to see what it does (besides adding charm to vintage bread pans!) and now I'm wondering if you bought it for specific purpose or just for fun? (looking for some justification in case I need it) Love all the gizmos poking out of pans too. :-) -amy
ReplyDeleteI am going to pretend I did not see this - I do NOT need another toy right now. :-D I can see how it would come in handy.
ReplyDeleteLoaf pans look great but I really love what's in them, especially those keys!
ReplyDeleteHave fun,
Cheryl
I think this was a perfect rescue of the loaf pans. Rust + words = industrial chic. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLoaf pans are great for storage. Keep em. Great industrial look.
ReplyDeleteLOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! Wish I knew how you are doing that! Of course, you won't catch me doing it unless it's peel and stick! Or spray paint! Keep those babies!
ReplyDeletevery cute!!
ReplyDeleteI have an expressions machine and same thing, took me so long to figure out, and then I forgot how by the next time I used it.
So, my advice, even tho' you did not ask for it, is to do it regularly so you do not have to figure it out all over again. =)

LOVE these -- the pans alone are fantastic but you really made them something special with the lettering!
ReplyDeleteYou have created another slice of genius, Betsy! A toast to your first cricut project! No matter how busy I get, I will always sandwich a new post from you into my day. I Wonder if there could be a cuter re-purpose for rusty loaf pans. Rye, oh, rye don't I ever see what you see in these junk market treasures? Um...pumpernickel!!!
ReplyDeleteI just got an email from my local sewing center. They are demoing this machine. Think they just got it in. I may have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteDo you think it is the type of thing you will use? I have a tendency to buy every new gadget I see and then many sit on the shelf.
I love the look. I wish I had one of those machines.

They turned out perfect, Betsy. Your four-hour ordeal was well worth the effort. The good news is your learning curve should be downhill from here. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday again this week.

The loaf pans are perfect for storing all your goodies! Love the letters!
ReplyDeletethose loaf pans are awesome! Such a simple idea, and you made it sing. You've got a great, creative "eye"!
ReplyDeleteIf you sell them, will the contents be included?! Ha! Not on your life! Pined under beautifully organized. Btw, your 'pin it' didn't work for me, probably me, but just in case.
ReplyDeleteSusanne.
Oh my! I just love the treasures Betsy. I agree, with just your magical touch of creativity, everything suddenly has a character. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully repurposed!
ReplyDeleteI love these little storage tins. I'm pinning this.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog...everything is so pretty! I am using repurposed pieces for storage in my studio too...love your repurposed bread pans!
ReplyDeleteI am starting to find a love for vintage as well. Love your displays!
ReplyDeleteRusty loaf pans! Love your ideas for using them! Thank you for sharing your creative idea at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the look! What a great way to repurpose.
ReplyDeleteOh...and ditto on the learning curve!
These are basic & great. I wouldn't part with them, or make yourself another batch!
