A fun alternative to traditional frames.
If I could find enough free wall space in my home, I'd create a gallery wall of hangers with people I recognize. These will be coming with me to my next vintage show.

How about using them to display pretty vintage lace and linens?
I used pieces of pretty scrapbook paper and Mod Podge to decorate this group of hangers. They still needed a little something extra, so I dressed up each hanger with a coordinating clip-on earring, then used a dab of E6000 to hold them in place.
I cut pieces of vintage lace just long enough to wrap around the edges, then glued them to the hangers with Tacky Glue.
Decorated with vintage buttons and a pretty pink clip-on earring.

Betsy, these are so pretty! I'm going to keep an eye out for some of these hangers so I can make a few of these. I have a wall that needs something and this would be a great way to display photos and I like that they can be easily changed as my Grands grow!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Betsy, these look like so much fun to make and I love the idea of using them to display the lace. You are such an inspiration with all your creative ideas!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this idea - and I have some of those hangers. I'll be making some soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, and I really like the touches of bling.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those pants hangers - holding some placemats. I should transform mine into something pretty like yours - some day. :/
This is one of those "why didn't I think of that?" posts! I have been buying and selling these hangers in my shop and always highlight how great they are to hang art and linens and cross stitch. But I never thought to decorate them first. These are just beautiful and so creative. Who doesn't have some lace and buttons and pretty paper around? Pinned this for future crafting!
ReplyDeleteI have a box of these hangers I use to display unframed prints in the booth. Do you sell the hangers you decorate? You have me thinking!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable Betsy! Very clever and creative way to make them extra special!
ReplyDeleteLove them...Everything you touch turns out to be a piece of art!
ReplyDeleteCarol
These are adorable Betsy! Not only are the hangers beautiful but I love you ideas on how to use them!
ReplyDeleteThese are just so pretty Betsy! I will definitely be looking for some of these when I'm out and about. Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

I used to have tons of these pant hangers! Should have held on to them!! They look great Betsy!
ReplyDeleteAnother brilliant idea, Betsy! I have a small stash of wooden hangers that used to belong to my grandfather and it never would have occurred to me. I do like your creative mind.

So beautiful Betsy! Both the hangers and the gorgeous things that hang from them! I paint pant hangers in bright colors and use them to display my grandchildren's artwork. I'm going to have to put some back so I can try one or two of your elegant creations.
ReplyDeleteI love these! I got a box of these free at a garage sale last summer. I am going to try these ideas. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI have a few of these hangers too....been needing to glamp them up...thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteSo DARN cute Betsy-love them and the pictures too!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous, Betsy. I often hang my art papers on tension hangers in my art room closet to keep the pages flat and somewhat together. But my hangers should be as lovely as the papers they hold! Inspired!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss these? I grew up with these hangers, they were always the bane of my existence as a kid. I could never seem to get them to work right! I never liked the look of them, now I love them! The lace really makes them special, and you know I'm partial to using jewelry whenever I can! I know they'll sell like hotcakes at your next show. And a gallery wall of them sounds wonderful.
