After digging through a few cabinets I found the perfect ingredients to complete this project.
I started with a beat up 8" x 8" x 2" block of wood and three strips of decorative vintage brass lamp banding. I have no memory of where this junk came from, but it was time to do something with it. I made a heart shaped pattern, traced the pattern on the pieces of lamp banding with a Sharpie, then cut out the pieces with tin snips.
The wood was dark and dirty looking, so I painted the front antique white before nailing down the banding. Of course every rustic heart needs a rustic key and rhinestone.

I wrapped a piece of vintage ribbon around the skeleton key, then tied it around the miscellaneous metal thing I attached to the top.
There you have it. Simple and rustic. Just the way I like it!
