Treasures from the Parking Lot Sale

Last Saturday was the annual parking lot sale held in the senior community where my mom lives. I didn't have much time to shop, so I made two quick rounds through the lot, then patted myself on the back for not over-buying.

parking lot sale treasures
I haven't decided yet if I'll be keeping the chairs.  I have two others that are almost identical, but I really don't need more...I just want more.  I'm hoping to get the frames painted before I pack up for the Pleasanton Antiques & Collectibles Faire this weekend.

vintage ammnunition box
This very cool old ammunition box will be getting a paint job in the near future because I'm not a fan of orange wood.  This thing is heavy!!

wooden vintage guest log
I'm not doing a thing to this sweet Guest Log.

vintage linens tablecloths flea market finds
I'll bring these three vintage tablecloths to my show this weekend.

vintage cookie cutters flea market finds
The price was right on this large and very heavy silverplate serving tray, so in my cart it went.  Vintage cookie cutters aren't usually on my shopping list, but the entire contents of this tray only set me back $1.  I think I'll throw them all in a big clear jar.

How cute are those tiny animals?

monogrammed vintage vanity dresser set M
I'm hoping Mary, Mildred Molly, or Myrtle discovers this pretty nine-piece vanity set in my booth.  It was impossible to pass up a box of 65 vintage hankies for $2. I might even make scarves out of them one of these days...after I wash them.

vintage hand quilted quilt match tin yardstick
I love the colors in the 65" x 77" quilt.  It has a few worn areas on top, but the backing is in great shape.  I'll bring the quilt and tin match holder with me this weekend; the other junk will just have to wait.

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend.  Any special plans?

I'd love for you to stay connected with My Salvaged Treasures.  I'm just one click away.

love to see what other people snag for resale. I too have an "overbuying" problem. Great mental editing, love what you selected. Sharon

Our tastes are so similar..I love everything you bought. And about the personal items like brushes and mirrors... do you ever wonder what lovely party or gathering that they helped the owner prepare for? It looks like you had a lot of fun! You have a wonderful weekend, too. :)

All great finds and it must have been a terrific sale. I, too, flipped over the handkerchiefs at that price. I collect those tiny cookie cutters and love the gingerbread man....wonderful treasures that people kept for a lifetime. I wonder if the ammunition box is Korean War era....
