Spool Necklaces and a Repurposed Lamp


I've been playing with old thread spools and sheet music again.  
This time, I thought I'd create a new display just for them and some of my other necklaces made from sheet music.

This pretty alabaster lamp base has been in my inventory for ages and has finally wore out its welcome at the antique shows.  Obviously no one was interested in rewiring it, so I decided to turn it into another jewelry display made from a lamp.

Perfect for holding about 16 - 18 necklaces without being too crowded.  To keep the necklaces from getting tangled up when I'm displaying them at a show, each one will hang from an S hook on the lace covered frame.  

Notice the new light bulb?  A dab of glue holds the doorknob in place.
The lace wrapped frame and blue glass finial were salvaged from two other lamps.

  I can't read the notes, but I love music, I love the graphics, and I sure love jewelry.

    Your necklaces are darling! I made some necklaces and to get them off my table while I was working, I hung them off a lamp too. Never thought of it as a way to display them...love it!

    Oh my gosh, I don't know which I like better, the jewelry or the lamp! Have to say I never really thought of that for display. Goodwill lamps have taken on a whole new life for me now! I'm going to try to pin it to my board "Jewelry Display"!

    Betsy, your necklaces are beautiful as always and I love the way you repurposed the lamp. Sometimes you have to accept that something just isn't going to sell and "ride the horse in the direction it is going". Good job!

    At fisrt I thought it was an old lamp shade ( BTW would look super cute, too) but this is darling. The glass door knob is a awesome touch. Very clever thinking outside the box~BTW, you own "thinking outside the box"~
